Boom Irrigation - Single Rail

Ultimately, the goal of any nursery is to grow the largest quantity, highest quality crops, in the smallest amount of space with the most efficient use of resources. Growth is dramatically affected by the volume of water and the timing of application, making irrigation one of the most important factors within the horticultural industry. Get it right and a crops overall resistance to stress from insects, disease and weather can be improved, get it wrong and a crops survival can be put at risk.

The Single Rail Boom Irrigation is an ideal glasshouse watering system. The single rail method of boom irrigation provides a stable boom for watering the crop that will not rock from side to side while travelling. The boom is pulled by a steel cable above the rail, so there is no chance of the boom slipping and over watering a section of crop. Each bay has it's own control panel that allows the user to program when the crops are going to be watered in advance as well as how much water is going to be put on the crop. A dosatron can be added along with a chemical tank and a second spray boom so that the crop can be sprayed through the boom as well as watered. This method allows the correct amount of chemical to be applied with a low volume of water.
